The Hoosiers - Worried About Ray
First featured June 2006
Result: signed to RCA, two Top 5 hits and a double-platinum album Steve Morton
Steve Morton, who we knew from his days at Virgin Records as Media Director, got in touch during the summer of 2006 telling us about a band he was developing with Toby Smith (ex-Jamiroquai) at their production/management company Angelic Union. He played us three songs, telling us that if we liked Sparks or Supertramp we should like The Hoosiers. Those influences did tick our box and we loved The Hoosier's songs, one of which was 'Worried About Ray'. Their debut album, 'The Trick to Life' was released on RCA in October 2007, reaching number 1 in the album charts and has gone double platinum. 'Worried About Ray' was the first of two Top 5 hits they were to have, more than a year after we first brought the demos to the industry's attention.
