Back in September 2024, we introduced you to Chinese artist Purple NiNi and her empowering R&B jammer ‘I Can Feel Again’. Since then, the BIMM London graduate has seen the track pick up tastemaker support from numerous online sites across the globe from the USA to Korea and her native China. Now back in Jinan in China, NiNi returns with a soul-stirring follow-up that delves deeper into love’s raw complexities. Reuniting with producer Katsuya Sezaki, Purple NiNi delivers another captivating performance with her powerhouse vocals gliding over a smooth, minimalist R&B production layered with ethereal textures and delicate percussion. Initially hesitant about the boldness of the lyrics, NiNi found reassurance from Grammy-winning lyricist Allan Rich (Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle, Whitney Houston) and former Motown Records executive Jamon Green, both of whom encouraged her to lean into the song’s emotional honesty.
