Back in September, we highlighted the return of Bristol-formed, London-based outfit Oslo Twins with their brooding and melancholic single ‘Sally’. Led by songwriters Claudia Vulliamy and Eric Davies, and completed by Ed Lyness, Will Snelling and Luke Brown, the group has now unveiled their new EP, ‘Tresor’, on new label Half-Normal Records. With ‘Tresor’, Oslo Twins push into cleaner, more expansive electronic territory than before and no more so than in this sci-fi odyssey. From the swirling synths to electronic percussion and menacing, otherworldly textures, there is a sense of the unknown in this cinematic and epic portrayal of a journey to and a night out at Berlin’s legendary club Tresor. It’s just brilliant and is essential listening for those of you who are fans of leftfield electronica and sci-fi soundtracks. Tastemaker support for the EP has so far come from 6 Music (Nick Grimshaw), NME, The Line of Best Fit, Far Out, 1883 Magazine and Under The Radar Magazine, among others. Utterly magnificent.
