Killer

We say
Released yesterday (5 March), ‘Killer’ is a gorgeous slice of country-blues from upcoming Irish singer-songwriter Nathan O’Regan. Born into a musical family in Cork, he cut his teeth in a band from the age of 16, relocating to Belfast soon after, where he quickly built a reputation on the live circuit and signed with independent label Zenith Cafe last year. With a covers EP already behind him, alongside praise from Wonderland, Voice Magazine and BBC ATL Introducing, among others, Nathan returns with ‘Killer’, the first taste of his upcoming debut album, ‘Olive Branch’. Driven by twanging guitars and the wail of a Hammond organ, the track was co-written with fellow Belfast-based musician (and RotD-featured artist) Gareth Dunlop. Lyrically, ‘Killer’ is a tribute to the fierce and fiery women they have in their lives who have made such a positive impact. With its raw energy and undeniable swagger, the track is primed for plays on Cerys Matthews Radio 2 show and 6 Music, alongside new release programming and country-blues playlists at DSPs. A stonking introduction to this emerging talent.
