We say

Laced with Brazilian funk influences, ‘WTF’ featuring Luton-based rapper BXKS is the latest single from rising 20 year old British producer Ryder. After earning a scholarship to London’s BIMM Institute through Spotify in 2022 it’s been a busy couple of years for the producer. In 2023, he made a buzz online with his ‘#skeptacore’ tracks – a reimagining of Skepta’s bars over inventive beats. The viral success of these tracks racked up millions of views on TikTok and led to an invite from Skepta himself to collaborate in the studio. The result was ’48 Hours’, an EP featuring two brand-new tracks with Skepta and Dre Six, which amassed over 50 million streams, received airplay on BBC 1Xtra and earned support from Mixmag, NME and Hypebeast. Released today (28 February), ‘WTF’ arrives as part of a double A-side single with ‘I Been’ featuring Daniella Wizard, which will both appear on his debut EP, ‘Ryderhood’, later this year. Co-produced with Leon Jean-Marie, ‘WTF’ fuses South American rhythms with deep bass, sleek electronic textures, and hints of old-school garage, providing a sublime sonic backdrop for BXKS’ fluid bars. A music video will drop soon on Ryder’s YouTube channel, accompanied by DJ sets and behind-the-scenes music production content. With momentum building, 2025 is shaping up to be another landmark year for this rising talent.
