It’s been over 18 months since we featured the extraordinary, genre-bending track ‘decay’ by non-binary artist Nxdia. Since then, the now London-based artist has built an impressive following for their brand of alt-pop, which has seen them amass over 65m streams and receive support across Radio 1, Elton John’s Rocket Hour, NME, Dork, and more. Their last single, ‘Feel Anything’, featured on Spotify’s Our Generation and 11 Spotify Top 50 viral playlists, alongside numerous plays on Radio 1 Future Pop. Now back with this, their follow-up single, the Egyptian-Sudanese artist explores their gender journey and the chaos of gender dysphoria. It’s one hell of an addictive gem, from the driving industrial beat, the gritty guitar riffs, and the dark clubby vibes. Upon release, the song quickly captured the attention of Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, and Amazon Music with additions to new release programming and editorial playlists. Dork, DIY, Huck, and more have sung its praises, but don’t be surprised if more coverage follows soon. With its infectious nature and hooks galore, we are sure this tune has all the hallmarks of a future anthem.
