If You Love Them, Let Them Go

We say
Johnny Lloyd returns today (31 January) with his fourth studio album, ‘Punchline’. It’s his first solo album since 2021’s ‘La La La’ and follows a prolific period of songwriting for TV and film (where he won the RTS Best Original Music Award for Sky Atlantic’s I Hate Suzie) as well as a new album and tour with his band Tribes. Produced by Max Clilverd (Tom Odell, Holly Humberstone), the album sees Johnny tackling themes of love, loss, and letting go over acoustic guitar-driven odes. For us, with its lilting melody and intimate vocals, the single, ‘If You Love Them, Let Them Go’, is the standout track, which has received spins on 6 Music (Steve Lamacq), Radio X (John Kennedy), Amazing Radio and a host of regional radio stations across the UK. Tonight at 6pm, Johnny will play Ram Jam in Kingston for a Banquet Records outstore gig, and then on Saturday he will perform at the Green Note in London at lunchtime before playing a Radio X Xposure session in the evening and returning to Green Note for an evening session on Sunday. A honest and heartfelt listen.
