Dilettante is the project of Leeds-born multi-instrumentalist, BC Camplight member and ‘Paul Hamlyn’ award-winning composer Francesca Pidgeon. We’ve been keeping an eye on the artist since she impressed us with her 2022 debut album ‘Tantrum’ – an exquisite art-rock album that drew widespread support at 6 Music. Later this month (24 January), she will return with her second album, ‘Life Of The Party’, and first totally self-produced LP. Recorded in a converted shipping container, the album explores themes of identity, societal alienation, polyamory and neurodiversity. This title track is just one of the many treats on the album, showcasing her gift for creating offbeat art pop with lush soundscapes and thoughtful lyrics. With praise from Mojo, Uncut, Under The Radar and more, Francesca’s latest single and forthcoming album is one for fans of St Vincent, Kate Bush and Radiohead. To support the release of the new album, Francesca will be performing in-store shows in February in London, Leeds and Liverpool, before embarking on a UK tour in March, including a show at the Lexington on 26 March.
