Driving Home The Long Way
We say
Within thirty seconds, we are sure that like us, you will soon become captivated by the gorgeous vocals of London-based multi-disciplinary artist Clara Mann on this beautiful and atmospheric folk affair. Raised in the Lot Valley in rural France, Clara moved to the UK in her teens where her love of artists like Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf, Judee Sill, and Tom Waits influenced her songwriting craft. Having released two EPs, ‘Consolations’ and ‘Stay Open’, Clara is set to release her debut album, ‘Rift’, on 7 March. Taken from her forthcoming album and released yesterday (8 Jan), ‘Driving Home The Long Way’ is an intimate and personal ode about independence and relationships. With its timeless folk air, the track is perfect for new release programming and singer-songwriter/folk/alt-folk and intimate editorial playlists at DSPs, alongside spins at 6 Music and specialist shows at Radio 1 and 2. Tastemaker support for her music has come from The Line of Best Fit, Clash, Americana UK and more. At the end of April, Clara will head out on a UK and European tour, including a show at The Old Church (23 April) in London.
