Next up on our Ones To Watch 2025 is the exciting emerging rapper and producer LeoStayTrill. It’s been something of a whirlwind twelve months for the Bromley-born artist, a son of Zimbabwean parents. Having released his second single ‘Honeybun’ with producer Xeretto at the end of 2023, he followed it up with ‘Pink Lemonade’, his breakout track, which we featured back in July. Co-written and co-produced with Xeretto from his bedroom at his parent’s home, the track exploded onto TikTok and quickly became an inescapable viral and summer hit on social media and streaming. Since then, he has released a series of singles and collabs, with the likes of ArrDee, Kerchak and this infectious single, featuring a cleared Clean Bandit ‘Rather Be’ sample. His pairing of fast-paced, free-flowing percussive bars with Afro swing melodies, afro beats and brooding trap has seen him amass over 65m streams on Spotify alone and featured across editorial playlists at Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, and Capital Xtra are also fans, while GRM Daily, Clash, The Line Of Best Fit and more have sung his praises online. At TikTok, he has over 2m video creations using his music and had the likes of Maya Jama, Dave, and Coi Leray using his sound. Last month, he sold out a headline show at the Camden Assembly, following shows around the UK and an Asake 02 Arena support slot. We love his infectious, energetic and rhythmic take on UK rap and believe LeoStayTrill has everything to rise up the ranks of the UK rap scene quickly in 2025.
