Next up on our Ones To Watch is Manchester-born emerging artist Westislonely. Having been taught to play the guitar, drums and piano by her four older brothers, West burst onto the scene last year with her debut, ‘Toothache’, after teasing the track to fans she had built on TikTok and online. With a broad taste and education in musical styles, thanks to her brothers, her music blends elements of rock with folk and pop aesthetics. Since her debut, she has released several singles, with the defiant sound of ‘Cliche’ and the angsty bold tone of this gem, ‘Empty Space’, taken from her forthcoming debut EP due next year. She has already captured the attention of Radio 1 with early plays across Future Artists with Jack Saunders and Future Pop with Mollie King, alongside editorial support at Spotify. Plus, MTV has had her as a Push Get To Know artist and Fame magazine featured her on the cover of its October issue. Her first run of shows in Leeds and London were a success and future shows are planned around the EP release. With her blend of vulnerability and authenticity coming across in her lyrics and vocals, Westislonely is an artist we think you should be keeping an eye on in 2025.
