Leave A Light On (Talk Away The Dark)

If you are not aware of this powerful and inspiring duet from Papa Roach and Carrie Underwood, then let us fill you in. Originally released on Papa Roach’s 2022 ‘Ego Trip’ album, the track’s message of support saw the band partner with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) for their tour last year and at each city donated to the charity on behalf of the attendees. Motivated by this, the band renamed the track ‘Leave A Light On (Talk Away The Dark), in conjunction with AFSP’s “Talk Away The Dark” campaign, and pledged a perpetual royalty from the song’s use, in any manner, to the AFSP. Earlier this summer, the band united with Carrie Underwood to record this beautiful new version. Like the original, AFSP will receive royalties generated from both artists from the song in perpetuity and also raise awareness for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the United States and Canada. Since the song’s release, in all forms, it has amassed over 106m combined streams, 22m video views, and over 100m social content views. With Carrie’s vocals adding another tender and heartfelt layer of warmth and support, the song will receive its official UK release later this month. Tastemaker support has come from NME, Metal Hammer, MSN, Kerrang!, Holler Country, Rock Sound, Rolling Stone, and more. Next year, Papa Roach will be touring the UK in February, where they will be partnering with Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) for their three shows.
