We’ve been keeping close tabs on rising Brighton-based garage punk trio Honeybadger for the past year or so after impressing us with their single ‘Back Home’. Since then, they have created a stir in the seaside town with their dramatic and energetic live shows and a string of single releases. Their distinctive blend of punk, indie-rock, psychedelia and grunge has seen them catch the attention of Clash, BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 1 (including a BBC Live Lounge), 6 Music, Radio X, Planet Rock and Kerrang! Radio. Last week (18 October), they dropped their self-titled debut EP, which featured this raw and grungey number. Featuring on several editorial playlists at Spotify (Fresh Finds), Apple Music (New In Rock, New In Punk), and Amazon Music (Rock Breakthrough), alongside the Kerrang! Chart (Spotify playlist), the track has also had spins on Alyx Holcombe Rock Introducing show on Radio 1 and Alex Baker’s FreshBlood on Kerrang! Radio. Having recently supported Sick Joy and Alien Chicks on tour, the band are looking for a live agent to help secure further shows across the UK and for next year’s festival season to coincide with future releases. With their youthful energy and a knack for crafting nostalgic yet fresh ferocious guitar riffs with thunderous percussive elements, the band are quickly becoming one of the leading lights pushing for the rise of a new breed of rock guitar bands.
