We always like to bring you something different now and again, and this gorgeous, meditative tune from Taiwanese composer/pianist Belle Chen is something special. Featuring synthesisers as raindrops and a curious electric piano melody that “evokes the animal murmurs of the forest”, ‘Closer To Rain’ is a soothing soundscape for the soul and perfect for those of you who just want to switch off, decompress and relax, and of course, for any additions to meditative playlists on DSPs. The track is a brand new composition and is taken from her recently released ‘Meditative Reworks’ EP (11 October) for World Mental Health Day, which features six meditative reworks of tracks from her recent album ‘Ravel In The Forest’ by herself and five selected electronic composers and producers. Both her EP and album are well worth your time, and if you are interested in watching Belle perform ‘Ravel In The Forest’ live with Engines Orchestra Strings, she will be performing at EFG London Jazz Festival at London’s EartH Theatre on 18 November.
