Born and raised in Hong Kong, London-based Amelie Jat marks a new musical chapter with this sparkling dose of pop shimmering with 80s pop echoes and Swiftian pop sensibilities. Having taken an interest in music from an early age, the multi-instrumentalist veers from the pop-punk essence of her early releases into an era of vibrant, almost bubblegum pop with nostalgic flourishes. Released last week (27 September) and recorded with producer James McMillian, the track shows early promise for the artist. Lyrically, the track is not as effervescent as the music as she explores the dynamics of a toxic relationship. With its glittering chorus, the track was added to Spotify Hong Kong's NMF and is ready for additions to new pop playlists. Next up, Amelie will drop four club remixes of the single later this month and then, in the New Year she will continue to release a series of new pop singles, alongside live performances in London. Watch the video here.
