We say

Earlier this year, we introduced you to Keyside, a promising four-piece from Liverpool that produces buoyant indie with an unapologetic Liverpudilian filter. A favourite among the burgeoning northwest music scene, the lads have continued to see their star rise with their last single and debut EP, ‘Nikita’, which saw daytime spins at BBC 6 Music and on Radio 1’s and Radio X specialist shows, alongside praise from When The Horn Blows, God Is In The TV and The Spectator. Produced by Chris Taylor at Kempston Street Studio and released today (6 September), ‘Runway’ is their stonking new track and their first single from their forthcoming new EP. Coming in at just under three minutes, the track is a sweet blend of modern bedroom pop indie with echoes of the La’s and the Smiths. With its singalong chorus of “I wanna runaway, wanna runaway lately, I wanna runaway, wanna runaway, I, I, I wanna runaway, can we runaway baby? I wanna runaway with you”, the track is deserving of additions to indie editorial playlists at DSPs and is radio-ready for plays at Radio 1, Radio 2, 6 Music, Virgin Radio and Radio X. Having supported Jamie Webster and played sold-out headline shows in Liverpool and Manchester, the band are set to play Neighbourhood festival, support Blossoms and Royston Club in Liverpool, as well as headline Liverpool’s Favourite Days Festival over the next couple of months.
