everything you say
We say
We’ve been following the progression of Irish artist Daire Patel since he dropped his hip-hop-infused blend of lo-fi bedroom pop on the hypnotic ‘Hold Me Down’. Since then, he has released a string of singles and his debut EP ‘Pretty Sweet’. Along the way, he has collaborated with producers such as Posner and Olive Hatake on dance-influenced tracks and been featured on Spotify editorial playlists (inc. NMF, R&B UK, Surface), received plays on RTE 2FM and BBC Introducing, and praised across Irish tastemakers. ‘everything you say’ sees Daire return to his Mac Miller and Frank Ocean inspired roots but this time through a folk and indie-tinged filter. Written about the general feeling of being in your mid-twenties and feeling old, despite not being old at all, the track is the first single to be taken from his forthcoming debut album. The track is perfect for those hazy, alternative playlists at DSPs and spins on Future Pop at Radio 1 and 6 Music. ‘everything you say’ marks a large step forward in the evolution of Daire’s music and a great taster of what’s to come on his debut album out later this year.
