Five-Year Plan
We say
Drenched in otherworldly atmospherics, ‘Five Year Plan’ is the serene new release from Bath/Bristol-based dream-pop risers Night Swimming. Having been taken under the wing of British producer Peter Miles (Orla Gartland, Fizz, Torres), the five-piece decamped to Devon last year to record their debut EP, ‘No Place To Land’, displaying influences of Beach House, Slowdive, Cocteau Twins, The Cure and Radiohead. Recording the EP’s tracks live to tape, this gorgeous release is the third single to be taken from their forthcoming EP release. Built from rich electronic string arrangements, haunting guitars and the soul-stirring vocals of Meg, the track tells of the story of the unfiltered pain following the sudden, unexplained loss of a close relationship. Tastemaker praise for the EP campaign so far has come from 6 Music, BBC Introducing, Radio X (X-Posure list), The Line of Best Fit, Clash, Dork, Rough Trade, The Rodeo, Notion, Louder Than War and Under The Radar, to name just a few. Next month, they will release their EP and play in-store gigs at Rough Trade West – London (27 September) and Rough Trade – Bristol (28 September), with a headline show at the Bodega in Nottingham on 30 September.
