Flutters
We say
London-based singer, songwriter and producer Paige Bea continues to impress us with this captivating new single, ‘Flutters’. The closing track of its namesake three track EP sees the former journalist take inspiration from Shygirl, Grimes, Oklou and Sevdaliza to create a mesmerising listen. From its sombre opening to a grittier sound where sparser drums dramatically snap into liquid drum and bass, the song is an exquisite mix of the ethereal and cinematic with the sound of clubbier atmospheres. We love it. Early support has come from the Line of Best Fit and DMY, but we also reckon this also deserves spins on Radio 1 and 6 Music, alongside additions to moody and alternative electronic playlists at DSPs. Her music has been praised by Clash, Wonderland, Dork, and Colors, as well as supported by Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, Tara Kumar and Sian Eleri, alongside BBC Introducing London’s Jess Izsatt and Jamz Supernova.
