Two weeks of Gloria
We say
Let us introduce you to the rather promising duo, tibia, from Stockholm. Formed by childhood best friends Elias Sahlin and Vide Willemark after they started to drift apart in their mid-twenties, the duo who are both musicians and songwriters created tibia - a band influenced by the music they loved growing up (Sugarcubes, Nirvana, MGMT, The Undertones). Released yesterday, ‘Two weeks of Gloria’ is the first release from a batch of 30 tracks they recorded. From its drawling dual-vocal opening verse, the track is a stunning cathartic, garage-rock flecked indie cut that grapples with the lure of a hedonistic lifestyle while hinting at a quieter, simpler path. Early online support has come from The Line Of Best Fit and Ones To Watch, but expect more to come soon. Perfect for additions to alternative and new release programming at DSPs, the track also deserves spins on specialist shows at Radio 1, 6 Music and Radio X. Next up, the duo will perform at Way Out West in Gothenburg on 10 August. Top stuff.
