See Through You
We say
We are continually impressed with rising south London artist Samira and her brand of energetic future pop. Having chosen her as one of our RotD Ones To Watch 2024 artists following her vitamin-C fuelled dance banger ‘Envy Me’ and the flirty, sassy pop stylings of ‘Good At Goodbyes’, Samira dropped her debut EP, ‘Dancefloors & Drama Vol.1’ in January. With strong support from across Radio 1 shows, including Future Pop, Party Anthems and Rickie, Melvin & Charlie, along with spins at Kiss FM, her music has also caught the attention of Spotify, Apple Music, Billboard, Clash, MTV UK, Notion, the Independent, Euphoria, The Line of Best Fit and more. For the past six months, she has been back in the studio honing her music with some of the industry’s most exciting talent. This emotive dose of D&B-infused pop is her first offering and marks a new chapter in her music evolution. Co-written by Samira with electronic pop producer Palmr, ‘See Through You’ is a darker number than previous releases, both lyrically and production wise, as Samira observes the highs and lows of messy nights out. Last week, the track received its national ‘First Play’ premiere on Mollie King’s Radio 1’s Future Pop show, alongside spins on BBC Introducing, Apple Music playlist additions and praise from House Of Solo, NME, Wonderland, Dork, The Sun, That Grape Juice and more. With its infectious beat, and those gorgeous vocals, expect to hear much more of this over the coming weeks. With over 14m combined streams so far for her music and more to come this year, Samira looks set to have a busy second half of the year.
