Take It Right Back
We say
South east London-based singer-songwriter and musician Adam Kelly spent his childhood listening to his parents’ Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye albums. This early introduction to music inspired him to learn the piano and later the bass and guitar before singing with his brothers in a band at pubs. His love of music saw him study music production at Point Blank Music School where he dived into producing EDM before deciding pop music was what he wanted to make. In 2022, Adam dropped his debut EP, ‘The Way That I See You’, which saw support at Hoxton Radio and Amazing Radio. More tastemaker support has come from BBC Radio 1/BBC Introducing Kent’s Abbie McCarthy on his 2024 singles, ‘overthinking’ and the title track to his forthcoming Jack Ducker (Lovelle, Saint Joshua) produced EP, ‘Let Me Love You’. Released today (12 July), ‘Take It Right Back’ draws on smooth pop melodies with touches of MGMT and Scissor Sisters vibes to create a catchy ’00s pop-tinged affair - perfect for addition to new pop playlists at DSPs. One to watch.
