What The Night Knows

We say

‘What The Night Knows’ is the haunting, dream-like folk electronica release from multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter Janie Price, aka Bird. Regular readers will know we have been mesmerised by her evocative cinematic compositions from her soundtrack album for the award-winning short film, ‘Wider Than The Sky’. On this release, she has teamed up with Belgian composer Jeroen Swinnen to co-write the song which, once again, was produced by Mike Hedges (U2, Travis, The Cure). With its hypnotic melodies, accented with subtle hints of Americana and even trip-hop, the track is perfect for chill-out and downtempo playlists, along with spins at 6 Music and Radio 2. Tastemaker praise has come from Wonderland, Telegraph, Express, GoodStar Vibes, Live N’ Loud, BBC Wales and  BBC Radio 5, where she completed a live session on Patrick Kielty’s show. Having impressed audiences at the Great Escape and Black Deer festivals, as well as a show at the Everyman Kings Cross, Bird is currently planning new live dates for later in the year.
