Powered by an infectious drum’n’bass beat, a summery acoustic guitar motif and lush boy/girl vocals, ‘Lights Out’ by Blvck Violet and Jade Morgan Kelly could be your new favourite summer dance anthem. Co-written and produced by the duo with Jade, the track is taken from the Bournemouth-based duo’s forthcoming second EP, ’Uncomfortably Numb’. Released last month, the track has already caught the attention of Radio 1 with multiple plays from Mollie King and Maia Beth, alongside spins at BBC Introducing Solent (RotW). Upon its release, ‘Lights Out’ was featured on Love Island USA and has since been added to editorial playlists at Apple Music (New In Pop, Breaking Pop) and Amazon Music (Fresh Dance). Inspired by Post Malone, Sam Tompkins and Holly Humberstone, the duo have a unique slant to their blend of pop and range of styles, which was recognised on Radio 1 Introducing Live Lounge when they secured a top five position. After the release of their new EP, the duo will perform at the Lower Third in London with Jade Morgan Kelly on 16 July. One to watch.
