Worth It
We say
It’s been over 18 months since we featured the dark, ethereal synth sounds of London-based songwriter and producer Paige Bea on ‘4x4’. Since then, the former journalist has continued to impress with her ‘Goodbye, Then!’ EP and recent single, ‘Flood’, and it is not only us. Her music to date has caught the attention of Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, Tara Kumar and Sian Eleri, alongside BBC Introducing London’s Jess Izsatt and Jamz Supernova, as well as tastemakers Clash, Wonderland, The Line Of Best Fit and more. Treading a path that weaves between the worlds of Yaeji and Eartheater’s experimental, avant-garde production and the shadowy, clubby synth-pop of Charli XCX and Shygirl, ‘Worth It’ is a direct ode to the frustrations of not knowing where you stand at the start of a new relationship. Taken from her forthcoming ‘Flutters’ EP, the track is punctuated by electronic flourishes inspired by Berlin, where she completed the EP with producer Gabriel Gifford (BODUR, August Charles, Harvey Causon). Add to this some gorgeous strings and piano melodies, and the track is perfect for spins at specialist radio and on electronic/mood playlists at DSPs. One to watch.
