You
We say
Released last Friday (14 June), ‘You’ is the brilliantly empowering dose of soul-stirring harmonies and uplifting house vibes from the House Gospel Choir. Founded by creative director Natalie Maddix a decade ago, the ensemble is set to release their second album, ‘Love Is The Message’, on 9 August, and this is its first release. Featuring on Spotify UK’s New Music Friday playlist, ‘You’ was co-written by Natalie, Lizzie Nightingale, Piers Agget, and Kesi Dryden (Rudimental) and produced by fromLondon. The track’s ‘first play’ came courtesy of 1Xtra’s Jeremiah Asiamah Rave Show, and has since had spins from Mi-Soul, BBC London and been named as DJ Spoony’s ‘New to Spoon’ track of the week on BBC Radio 2 as he sits in for Trevor Nelson. Watch the video here later today (18.00). Having performed across the UK and alongside artists like Kylie, Rudimental, Lewis Capaldi and Rick Astley for TV performances, the ensemble is set to play a host of shows and festivals this summer, including Chaka Khan’s Meltdown Sunday Service this Sunday (23 June). Spreading a message of joy, unity and peace through their music, House Gospel Choir and ‘You’ are just the perfect antidote to lift your spirits this summer.
