The Day That He Saw Red
We say
Packed with squalling, vicious riffs and a feral energy, ‘The Day That He Saw Red’ is the new single from rising Newcastle rockers Roses In December. Formerly called Crux, the four-piece fuse aggressive sounds of punk and grunge with elements of prog, and in this offering about toxic masculinity and corporate greed a touch of indie-rock swagger. Recorded with Sam Grant from fellow Geordie rockers Pigs x7, the track was released last Friday and would sound perfect on alternative/rock playlists at DSPs, alongside specialist plays at Radio 1, 6 Music and Radio X. This Friday, the band will drop the single’s accompanying video on their YouTube channel. Previous tastemaker support has come from Clash, Earmilk, New Noise, BBC Introducing and 6 Music. Having performed at the Alternative Escape and A Stone’s Throw Festival this year, the band are set to play 499 Festival and Little Buildings, Newcastle, in July. Ferocious and poignant rock. One to watch.
