We say
Earlier this year, singer-songwriter Nathan Evans marked his entry into Scottish folk music with the RotD-featured ‘Heather On The Hill’, which has since amassed over 30m streams across DSPs. He followed it up with ‘Highland Girl’ (3m streams) and back in April released this proud and anthemic ode to Scotland with fellow Scots Saint Phnx ready for the Euros. The track has become an unofficial anthem to inspire Scotland, blending indie, rock and Scottish folk elements for a rousing affair. Ahead of their opening match against Germany, they released this accompanying video and saw Nathan appear on Talk Sport Live and with fans in Munich on match day. Tomorrow (19 June), Nathan and Saint Phnx will perform the song live in the fan zone before Scotland takes on Switzerland in Cologne. Having triggered a worldwide sea shanty hype in 2020 with his covers and the massive success of his version of ‘Wellerman’ (over 2bn streams) and number 1 in 11 countries, Nathan has written a track that Scotland can be proud of and with a healthy uptick in streams and YouTube views running up to and into the Euros, the track is building momentum. Next up, Nathan will release his new single, ‘100 Miles’, at the end of the month, perform at multiple summer festivals, and then in October, he will tour with Saint Phnx.
