Divide And Conquer
We say
These Welsh rockers already have a solid following, having landed inside the Top 10 on the Official Albums Chart in 2022 with their previous Earache release 'See Through Blue'. Now Scarlet Rebels return to consolidate on that impressive achievement with 'Where The Colours Meet', a bold new collection of songs that calls for unity and togetherness in today's polarising, confusing and fragmented world. There's fire in their belly, for sure, and that shines through loud and proud with the impassioned vocals of frontman Wayne Doyle on this political song, 'Divide And Conquer', the timing of which couldn't be more pertinent as the 2024 General Election campaign rumbles on to its conclusion. They've been smart enough to enlist the great Colin Richardson, a man who's produced some of the biggest names in rock over the past three decades, and he delivers a crisp, clean sound here that helps the lyrical mesaage instantly cut right through from that huge opening power chord. They launch their album at Swansea's Bunkhouse on the day of release, and have a bunch of live dates leading up to it, with more to come in October when they'll play a highly-anticipated London show at The Garage in Highbury. Get this tune cranked up loud. Energetic, feisty, and definitely worthy of your attention. Now, who said you should never mix politics and music, eh?
