Loaded Fun
We say
Having toed the line between buoyant indie-pop and the left-side of indie-rock since their formation, Bristol-based band Make Friends mark their next sonic iteration with the release of ‘Loaded Fun’. Produced by Bombay Bicycle Club’s Ed Nash, the track sees the band splice jagged percussion with spiralling guitar motifs, before the song explodes into its intricately orchestrated, frenzied pre-chorus. Its boundless and quirky energy makes this an infectious and riveting release. Watch the video here. Upon release, the track featured on editorial playlists at Apple Music and Deezer, but we reckon these won't be the last. Having already caught the attention of Radio 1 and 6 Music on earlier releases, it surely won't be long before this track follows suit with spins. Previous tastemaker support has come from Clash, Wonderland, The Independent, Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon, to name just a few. With a new EP to be released in the summer through Ignition Records, the band will play at the Notting Hill Arts Club on 11 July to showcase new material. One to watch.
