You Break It, You Bought It
We say
Sharp-witted quips on the state of renting in London dart between zesty guitar work and funk-laced basslines of Home Counties’ grin-inducing new single ‘You Break It, You Bought It’. It’s a hook-filled delight of dance-punk goodness taken from their forthcoming debut album ‘Exactly As It Seems’ out on 3 May via Submarine Cat Records. Produced by the band’s guitarist Conor Kearney and recorded in a small studio in Hackney during their album recording sessions, the track is already a firm fan favourite, having been played live since 2022. Having already caught the attention of Radio 1 (Jack Saunders, Sian Eleri), 6 Music (Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens, Radcliffe & Maconie) and Apple 1 (Elton John), we expect to hear this fun number picking up spins soon, along with DSP editorial playlist support. Further tastemaker support for their music has come from Loud & Quiet, NME, So Young Magazine, Line of Best Fit, DIY Magazine, Dork, Rough Trade and Clash, among others. In May, they will head out on a UK tour to promote the release of their debut LP, which will include shows at the Great Escape Festival and Oslo in London on 22 May.
