Enriched with hedonistic grooves and a soulful tone, ‘Down’ is the sublime new track from east London artist Chinwe. Following up on last year’s EP release ‘Fall’, which contained the RotD-featured ‘Come We Fly’, the track marks a new club-orientated direction for Chinwe and is doused in late-night abandon. Inspired by genre crossing musicians and rich, jazz-filled compositions, Chinwe’s music continues to indulge in introspection and self-reflection as she explores being in a new relationship and feelings of infatuation. Having caught the attention of Jamz Supernova at 1Xtra and Tom Robinson at BBC Introducing, as well as further tastemaker support from Complex, Wonderland, Metal and more, we reckon ‘Down’ would sound great on electronica/soul infused dancefloor playlists at DSPs and spins on Radio 1, 1Xtra, Capital Xtra and Kiss. A euphoric dose of clubby R&B.
