Old Ways
We say
‘Old Ways’ is the new single from Dublin-born, Berlin-educated and London-based artist Lucy McWilliams. Back in January, we tipped her to have a breakout year after featuring a series of stellar singles that saw her regale us with rich storytelling against a backdrop of a myriad of soundscapes that touched upon expansive indie, slinky R&B, swaying acoustic pop, and ’90s romcom-style rock. Taken from her new EP, ‘Third Second Chance’, ‘Old Ways’ is a warm, tender and at times explosive affair as she explores breaking free from old ways. With its anthemic indie rock notes and sweet vocal lithe, the song highlights a bigger and more assured sound. Early support has come from Spotify, to go alongside previous tastemaker support Apple Music, Radio 1, Clash, Hotpress, Earmilk, Wonderland, Vanyaland and more. Next month, Lucy will play at the Servant Jazz Quarters in London on 27 March. Mark it in your diaries now.
