Skin
We say
Continuing to impress us with her warm and heartfelt pop odes is the talented London-based singer-songwriter Valencia Grace. Released today (19 Jan), ‘Skin’ is the follow-up to the Radio 1 (Future Pop) and BBC Introducing supported ‘Roses’ and is the second single to be taken from her forthcoming debut EP. Written after a therapy session, the track sees her singing about not seeing someone close to her for seven years. It’s a strikingly haunting and warm number, backed by a simple acoustic guitar and piano melody, layered with rich orchestral strings and waltz-esque percussion. Featuring on new release programming at Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer, we can easily see this added to ballad/pop playlists and receive spins at Radio 1 and 2. Previous tastemaker support for her music has come from Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Dork, Notion, The Line Of Best Fit and more. On the live front, she has previously supported Sam Fender on his US tour and last year played BST Hyde Park (P!nk support), All Points East, The Great Escape and BBC Introducing Live x Roundhouse Rising. ‘Skin’ is a timeless and exquisite offering and bodes well for her debut EP.
