We say
Continuing our Ones To Watch 2024 is West Midlands-based indie-pop riser Nieve Ella. Her songs about healing broken hearts through hooks and harmonies first came to our attention in the summer of 2022 when we featured her as a Compass artist around the release of her grungy-pop debut ‘Girlfriend’. Since then, the 20 year old has released her debut EP ‘Young & Naive’, been championed Radio 1’s Greg James and Jack Saunders, supported by BBC Introducing and gained the praise of NME, Rolling Stone, The Independent, Dork, Clash, The Line of Best Fit, The Forty-Five, Hunger and more. In September, Nieve dropped her follow-up EP, the brilliant ‘Lifetime Of Wanting’, which features this Radio 1 C-listed dose of hazy guitar pop. On the live front this year, she has supported Dylan and Inhaler on their European tours and this summer saw her play Glastonbury Festival, The Great Escape, All Points East, Reading & Leeds, Barn On The Farm and Boardmasters. With over 5m combined streams and strong support at Spotify (Our Generation playlist cover), Nieve’s authentic and vulnerable songwriting has continued to connect with her growing fanbase, as seen when her debut UK headline tour sold out in five minutes and more dates were added due to demand. 2024 is set to be a big year for this rising star.
