We say

Starting our new week of Ones To Watch 2024 are baroque pop newcomers The Last Dinner Party. It’s been a remarkable rise for the London-based quintet in 2023. Having built up a live reputation playing small venues in London in 2022, the group became one of the most talked about bands before they dropped this anthemic dark guitar-pop debut in April this year. A captivating and buzzy Great Escape performance followed to kickstart a busy summer playing packed shows at festivals (including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Latitude) and then a UK headline tour in the autumn, which took their 2023 ticket sales to over 7.5k. Along the way, they dropped three more stonking singles, were added to playlists at Radio 1 and 6 Music, performed on Later with Jools Holland and supported numerous artists, including Florence + The Machine, Hozier and Lana Del Rey. At DSPs, they have been heavily featured and were chosen as a Spotify Radar First Listen Artist (UK) and Apple Up Next (UK) artist. Further praise has come from BBC, Evening Standard, The Times, NME, and the Guardian, to name just a few. We love their ambitious and sometimes leftfield take on indie rock that is full of confidence and has harnessed a loyal and growing legion of fans. With Vevo tipping them in their DSCVR Artists to Watch in 2024 and 6 Music naming them as one of their artists of the year, we reckon there will be plenty more plaudits for the quintet before the year is out. 2024 is already shaping up to be a big year with the release of their debut album ‘Prelude To Ecstasy’ in February, a sold-out show at the Roundhouse in London and a European tour in the spring, and that’s just the start for this talented and hard-working band.
