Kickstarting our Ones To Watch 2024 is rising 22 year old British-Sudanese singer-songwriter Elmiene. The Oxford-raised artist first broke onto the scene in 2021 with his sublime debut single ‘Golden’, which debuted in Virgil Abloh’s final Louis Vuitton show after it had initially caught the attention of Radio 1 DJ Benji B. Since then, Elmiene’s career path has seen him featured on recent albums by Stormzy and Lil Silva, logged studio time with Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Sampha, Syd (The Internet), Badbadnotgood and A$AP Ferg, to name just a few, and of course, release a string of gorgeous R&B-tinged tunes of the highest quality. Along the way, he has received praise from Complex, GQ, Vogue, The Line of Best Fit and more, spins from Radio 1 (Benji B, Jack Saunders, Clara Amfo), 1 Xtra, Apple Music 1, 6 Music, Capital Xtra and Reprezent, as well as sessions for Colors and a performance on Later with Jools Holland. At DSPs, support has come from Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Deezer. Plus, he can list Chance The Rapper, Elton John, Questlove and Celeste among his many admirers. It’s also been a busy year on the live front with performances at Glastonbury, All Points East and a series of sold out shows in London, Paris and the US. What we love about Elmiene is his heartfelt lyricism and those ever so soulful and timeless vocals. It is of no surprise to hear that we are not the only ones either, with Vevo also tipping him in their DSCVR Artists to Watch in 2024. 2024 is set up to be a big year for Elmiene.
