it’s been a minute
We say
Formed in a homemade tiki bar in Manchester, Isla Rico are a three-piece band that produces vibrant indie-pop. Last week saw them drop their debut EP ‘Eternal Optimist’ via their own label, which brilliantly showcases their style and feel-good outlook on life. A song that effortlessly highlights this is ‘it’s been a minute’. Awash with sun-drenched woozy synths, vitamin-c saxophone breaks and breezy spoken word couplets, the song is about looking on the bright side of life. With its radio-friendly and feel-good factor, it’s perfect for those indie-pop playlists at DSPs and plays on shows on Radio 1 and 6 Music. Having played a handful of live shows across the Northwest and performed at The Great Escape and Y-Not festivals earlier in the year, the band will be performing at Scruff Of The Neck’s Year End Festival in Manchester next month before playing the Sebright Arms on 12 December.
