Freaking Out
We say
Regular readers will know we have been big supporters and fans of Tom Walker over the last six years, and we are pleased to feature another absolute gem. Over that time, he has won a BRIT Award, sold over three million albums worldwide, amassed over four billion global streams and gained plaudits from tastemakers far and wide. In September, he released the brilliant ‘Burn’, which took a swipe at his label over urgent, hammering beats. It was the first track from his forthcoming new LP ‘I Am’ (out 31 May) and garnered support from tastemakers across radio, DSPs and press. Today, he is back with this honest and powerfully emotive piano-led pop offering produced by Fraser T Smith (Adele, Stormzy) and Stuart Price (Madonna, The Killers). It’s a personal cry for help which tackles social anxiety and addresses the re-learning of how to be himself and the creative artist forcibly stalled by Covid. Featuring across new release programming at DSPs, the song has been lined up for plays on the radio and on 11 November will appear on Later with Jools Holland to perform the single alongside ‘Burn’. With two standout tracks marking the next era of his career, we can’t wait to hear the new album.
