Inzane
We say
We do like something that is a tad different here at RotD, and Oslo trio Mall Girl certainly offer this in this eccentric rock symphony. Adorned with bold string sections, crushing guitars and otherworldly jazz-inflected interludes, ‘Inzane’ is anchored around vocalist Bethany Forseth-Reichberg's feverish exclamations of infatuation: "Do you see how I really crave you, honey?/Something about you makes me go insane". It’s an intoxicating concoction that, for us, ticks all the right boxes. Taken from their forthcoming second album ‘Pure Love’ out in January, the band have already caught the attention of tastemakers like The Guardian, Time Magazine, Quietus, The Line of Best Fit and Wonderland for their 2022 debut album, and we expect them and many more will jump on with the praise for the new album when it’s released. If you looking for something a bit leftfield, grandiose and strange this Halloween then look no further.
