Hard To Love
We say
With jangly guitars, tight drums and haunting vocals, ‘Hard To Love’ is the exquisite debut from Manchester-based alt-pop band Better Joy. Created and led by Bria Keely, the band are influenced by an array of artists from The Jesus & Mary Chain to Phoebe Bridgers, and The Cure to Fazerdaze. In this debut, Better Joy deftly weaves classic and contemporary alternative in this uplifting cocktail about accepting yourself for who you are. Recorded in Chapel Studios in Lincoln and produced with Mike Peden and Steve Osborn (Happy Mondays, New Order), ‘Hard To Love’ is a heady introduction to the band that would fit seamlessly on any new release programming and alternative/indie playlists at DSPs. Plus, it’s perfect for spins on Radio 1 specialist shows, 6 Music, Radio X and Virgin Radio. Watch the Sam Kristofski (Tame Impala, Broods) directed video here. Tonight (18 October), they will be supporting Andrew Cushin in London at the Scala.
