Serious Tune (Shadow Child Emo-Rave Remix)
We say
Not much is known about Sock Drawer, except that they are a boy/girl duo from Brighton whose influences range from the XX, Romy, Sylvan Esso to MGMT. Ahead of the release of their debut single, ‘Serious Tune’, on 2 November, the duo dropped this hauntingly addictive remix by ex-Radio 1/Rinse FM DJ and recent Kungs collaborator Shadow Child, and it’s brilliant. With hints of their influences floating in the background against some chilled synths, breaks-inspired beats and gorgeous vocals/harmonies, the track has already caught the attention of Apple Music (Electronic addition) and Amazing Radio (C-List). Although, we wouldn’t be surprised if over the next week or so, spins could soon be heard on Radio 1 specialists shows, Kiss and Rinse FM. Sock Drawer are currently working on their debut album with producer James Dring (Gorillaz, Jamie T, Georgia), but if you are interested in hearing more from them, then they will be performing at Café Koko on Wednesday (18 October) at 8pm. All in all, this is a serious tune (sorry) that deserves your attention.
