Not Cool Enough For LA
We say
We last featured Northampton singer-songwriter Maddox Jones back in the summer of 2021 with his future-retro pop song ‘Somewhere There’s A Plan (Believe It)'. Since then, the former Departure frontman has been heavily writing and working with collaborators (Billy Lockett, Janet Devlin) on a string of single releases that has seen him pick up tastemaker support from Wonderland, Atwood Magazine, Clash, BBC Radio, iHeart Radio, Apple Music and Deezer, to name just a few. On this, his latest release out today, Maddox has teamed up with label mate RIP Youth for an anthem about being yourself unapologetically. With its Afrobeats-tinged beat, chilled-out pop production and hooks galore, ‘Not Cool Enough For LA’ is an infectious tune. The track is perfect for additions to new pop and chilled pop editorial playlists at DSPs and plays on Radio 1 and Capital FM. Next Tuesday, you can catch Maddox Jones performing at Future Hits Radio and Hot Vox showcase to raise money for World Mental Health Day at The Macbeth in London and then he will be supporting Billy Lockett on select dates in November and December.
