Shout About
We say
Toeing the line between indie-pop and hip-hop, Portsmouth-based singer, rapper and producer Jordan Duke brings his wry, tongue-in-cheek observations about the everyday life of a hard-living, working class artist to life in his music. Building on his previous singles, ‘Thought of My Day’ and ‘Young Lives’, which saw him pick up online support from blogs, ‘Shout About’ delivers a soulful and funk-infused dose of his brand of hip-hop. Released last month, the track has already been named ‘Track of the Week’ on BBC Introducing Solent and could happily feature on specialist shows at Radio 1 (Jack Saunders, Sian Eleri) and 6 Music (Craig Charles, Huey Morgan). Plus, chilled and hip-hop contextual playlists at DSPs. Having recently supported Ben Ottewell (Gomez) and performed at Victorious and the Isle of Wight summer festivals, Jordan will be playing Drift in Southsea this Thursday (5 October). For fans of Easy Life, Hak Baker and Rex Orange County.
