Back in July, we featured the euphoric indie dance anthem ‘Cells’ from east London-based artist and producer Blakey’s first EP release of the year. Following the release of his ‘Otherside’ EP, which received a Spotify UK NMF feature for ‘Cells’, BBC Radio plays and a sync on Love Island, he is back with his third EP, ‘Outside’, this Friday (8 September). This, the focus track from the EP, shows Blakey’s sonic ambition and range of influences as he taps into more UK garage-inspired sound and R&B feel as he intimately sings about desire. Deserving of editorial placement on new release programming and pop contextual playlists at DSPs, ‘Need’ is another track that could quite easily be picked up for sync on TV shows to go alongside previous syncs on Netflix, HBO or NBC. Blakey is currently in the process of booking a headline London show for October to tie in with the release of the last EP, and is also looking for a live agent and a publisher.
