Killing Time
We say
With a sound rooted in the punk aesthetic of the Clash colliding with the infectious shambolic nature of the Libertines and the singalong indie of the Kaiser Chiefs, ‘Killing Time’ is the excellent second single from Glasgow-based four-piece The Zebecks. Having grown up in Elgin in Scotland, the band, consisting of Hayden Peace (guitar), Max Robertson (bass guitar), Dan O’Shanter (vocals/guitar) and Aiden Smith (drums), moved to Glasgow to establish themselves in the city’s music scene. Having played across the city’s smaller venues, including King Tut’s, performed in Edinburgh and Aberdeen, and supported Scouting For Girls, The Big Pink, and Clean Cut Kid, The Zebecks have started to make a name for themselves on the Scottish underground scene. Deserving of alternative/rock editorial playlist support at DSPs and plays on Radio 1, 6 Music, Radio X and Virgin, ‘Killing Time’ is the perfect introduction to the punk fuelled indie and introspective lyrics. If you are in Glasgow tonight (18 August), the band are playing King Tuts, and we recommend you check them out.
