Constitution
We say
There is a lot to love about Essex singer songwriter Worricka’s soulful debut, ‘Constitution’. From the neo-soul groove to the jazz-flecked percussion and washed out electronic elements, the track is a gorgeous jammer to highlight his distinctly smokey vocal to perfection. It’s his first release under his new moniker, having already seen previous success under Joe Worricker, which included a duet with Boy George on his ‘This Is What I Dub’ collection, praise from Nina Simone’s daughter on his ode track ‘Nina’ and critical acclaim from key tastemakers such as the Guardian, BBC Radio 1, Clash and many more. Drawing on Amy Winehouse, Erykah Badu and Sarah Vaughan as his main inspirations, Worricka has been hard at work writing and recording music for the new chapter in his musical journey. With a string of releases to follow, ‘Constitution’ marks an impressive opening gambit and one that we shall keep an eye on.
