Awash with the swells of strings, synths and electronic percussion, ‘Stains’ is the gorgeous introspective alt-pop number from RotD's favourite Salt Ashes. The release marks a slight change of pace from the London-based singer-songwriter's recent dance and electro-pop-tinged tracks. Teaming up with producer Louis Souyave, who collaborated with her on her 2021 album ‘Killing My Mind’ and recent single ‘Heart Attack’, Salt Ashes beautifully balances a pop sensibility with an alternative edge in this song of self-reflection and the need to go forward. Yesterday (25 July), she dropped the stunning video directed and edited by Joshua Thomas at Titled Hue. Watch it here. Early support has come from Gemma Bradley on her Radio 1 BBC Introducing show and regional BBC stations, while previous tastemaker support has come from Billboard, Noisey, The Guardian, The Line of Best Fit, Clash, Wonderland and MTV.
