Leave Me Alone
We say
It's already had a solid seal of approval from Jack Saunders at Radio 1 who gave the song its first play last night (14 June), and there's no question Caity Baser's star profile is rising faster than the current summer temperatures. This is the perfect feel-good two-minute bop to soundtrack the heatwave and beyond, 'cos it's stuffed full of earworm hooks and instantly catchy lyrics to make your smile. You know we're huge fans too, having already featured both 'Friendly Sex' and 'X & Y' last year, but this is her best yet, telling the relatable real-life story of a boy Caity was seeing who just couldn't accept when things were all over between them. Reviews for her recent show at the Great Escape were glowing, particularly from NME, who described it as "a display of pop brilliance by a force of charisma". 'Leave Me Alone' follows up 'Pretty Boys', her excellent Top 40 debut back in March. Since then, she's collaborated with Joel Corry on 'Dance Around It', and was all over our socials and the tabloids at the start of this week, dressed exactly like him (complete with fake comedy six-pack) on the red carpet at Capital's Summertime Ball. There should always be room on your playlist for some unashamedly frothy pop to lift your spirits. We're pretty damn sure we've found your perfect newest addition right here. Jump aboard.
