Probably Finally
We say
There is something inherently cool about the ’80s UK post-punk and late ’70s New York no wave inspired sounds of San Francisco-born artist Nick Hinman’s latest music project. After performing coast to coast in the US, including a support tour with Foster The People, an Austin City Limits performance, and singles produced by Tony Hoffer (Beck, M83, The Kooks), Nick started making demos for his new project Fast Money Music. In early 2020, he travelled to London to record his debut EP, and then the pandemic struck, leaving him stranded and having to work remotely to record and collaborate with musicians and producers. Having decided to stay in London rather than return to the US, Nick finished recording his debut EP, Strange Moments, at Hackney Road Studios with producers Sam Petts-Davies (Thom Yorke, Warpaint, Puma Blue) and Mikko Gordon (Arcade Fire, The Smile, ISLAND, Somebody’s Child). It features The 1975’s George Daniel on drums. Early support for the singles from the EP, including this gem, has come from Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq and Amazing Radio UK’s Charlie Ashcroft. Next month, ahead of the EP launch, Fast Money Music will be performing a free show at the Sebright Arms in London, which we recommend you mark down in your diaries.
